I need help. ASAP

Go to solution Solved by Danny_UK,

I wouldn't bother with changing windows editions.  Windows 10 seems to be windows 10, regardless of Home Pro or Enterprise.  I mean who uses telnet in todays day and age?  xD

I mean if you really really really want to change the windows version here are the steps: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/downgrade-from-windows-10-pro-to-home/345f5464-cb7a-44b3-8856-237cbec072c8?auth=1

But be warned, if you mess this up you will mess shit up completely.  You can only downgrade not upgrade using this method.  BUT AGAIN... I would not even bother doing it it makes no difference

Hope that helps

Hello dear people.

I have recently discoverd my Windows 10 beeing a paid Enterprise version and was simply wondering if I need to purchase a new product key if i want to downgrade to say windows 10 pro or home.

I am not sure if this is the place to go but I would really appreciate an answer since I'm not good with software.

Thanks.

You could like just keep using it as is? There hardly are any differences for common usage, assuming the key is still legit even if being used on the wrong place.

the question is why you'd want to. i can see no reason at all to downgrade a windows key, there's nothing to gain in doing so, only to lose.

Pretty sure that the Enterprise edition will get that too but feel free to correct me.

You are correct. The main difference is enterprise won't spring the update on you.

So you manually have to do it or something?

I just use Pro and it downloads stuff automatically which is nice but can be annoying.

depends on settings, enterprise has the option to delay updates for a decent length of time, not too sure if they have a delayed rollout as well, probably not a huge delay if they do

That should be a basic feature honestly.

Though they have the insider program so at least they do some real life testing.

I recommend keeping your Enterprise edition. You will have more control over your OS then normal, pretty much you have more admin controls, less telemetry to contend with (if your worried about that) and few other things Enterprise has tucked away.

Incorrect, there is a vast difference between Home Edition and Enterprise Edition.  Telnet ... oooh.

Enterprise functions are automatically enabled with an Enterprise Edition ... and no.

You have the ability to update your edition at your leisure as Enterprise Editions don't auto update the Features (only security updates) for good reason.

@GoodBytes can probably confirm this as I have yet read up to see if Enterprise will be getting this yet or not.
