Help with rgb strips

ActuallyGoose

Hello, So i have 2 rgb strips in my room, one behind my desk, the other on my bead-head, the problem is, I bought them from two different places, One was a 16 key, the other was a 44 key, since buying a new remote for the 44 key strip, the 44 key remote strip now works with the 16 key remote, But they are out of sync, It's a little difficult to explain, but I'll try

Desk strip was 16 key, bedhead was 44 key

I press red on my control, both go red, I press mode, one goes onto a fade, the other starts flashing, or if i press green, one goes green, the other goes onto a yellow, or orange color. Basically they are just out of sync, I'm unsure if i need to buy something else to make them work together, or if im just missing a step I need to do, In need of a little help by anyone that knows a thing or two about how to use rgb strips.

Thank you~

The remote is sending out 2 signals and each LED strip is interpreting it as different instructions.

For example, if the remote sent out "0101011", the 44 key might say " yep, I know this. Strobing blood red!", whle the 16 key one probably understands it as something different. The two are basically talking in 2 different languages.

exactly what @bob51zhang said, the 16 key is slightyly dumber than the 44 key ones, I would assume they're not digital strips right?

Okay, so the thing is. I figured that, but then, I bought a remote that is the same as my other one, the little 4 pin part that plugs into the strip, and then outputs to the power source, so those parts are the same. Does that mean it isn't possible just because the strips are from different places?

Cause I'm not exactly understanding how two identical rgb controllers are putting out different signals. Or do I need to reconfigure them (If that's possible)
Also, Should I provide links to them, or photos.

Sure, I'll just quickly find them.

So, I'm going to post the eBay links. I hope that's allowed, and beneficial, But if not I apologise

The 1st desk strip: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1M-5V-RGB-LED-STRIP-LIGHT-COLOUR-CHANGE-USB-KIT-BACKGROUND-LIGHTING-TV-PC-LAPTOP/262912084191

The 2nd bed head strip: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2M-3M-5M-RGB-5050-SMD-60-LEDs-m-Waterproof-12V-Led-Strip-Light-44-Key-Remote/222327489311
(For reference I got the 3 meter strip with no adapter, I'm using my own power adapter)

and the controller I replaced the 2nd bed head strip with: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RF-Mini-Wireless-Remote-Controller-for-5050-3528-RGB-LED-Strip-Lights-12V-24V/182156012391

Hopefully that helps towards the cause. I can also take a video, or photo of the setup if that will help :)

The controllers are whats directly connected to the led strip, not the remote.

So with one remote you may be able to send the same order to the two controllers,

but the controllers interpret the orders differently.

So you will have to use the remote(s) on each controller separately.

Or buy another to match one you already have.

So, the controllers look identical, as do the remotes. Does this mean that even with that, they are programmed differently or something?

Also, both of the controllers work on both strips. It's impossible to separate them without just unplugging one of them

If one Remote sends an order to two Controllers and you get diff results then the Controllers are interpreting the order differently.

The Remote is infra-red which is line of site. If both Receivers can see the Remote at the same time then yes both Controllers will react. You have to separate the two Receivers (put them in diff places) so they both don't pick up the same signal.

One is behind my desk, and one if behind the bedhead, so. Both are out of line of sight, Hell, I can even use the remote from outside the room. Also, if this is the case, SHould me buying a 2nd controller the same as the replacement and put that on the one on my desk, would it sync them up?

Also, a quick note. One is usb powered, the other is powered by an adapter. Not sure if that adds anything to the problem
