Which graphic card manufacturer to go for

MadSnuggle

Hello,

My old MSI GTX 780 ti busted yesterday and i'm looking to buy a new GPU. Since im on a budget this time, i'll go with a GTX 1060 6GB.
First i'd like to know if this card will perform at least as good as the fallen 780ti?

Since im on a budget id like it to be as cheap as possible. I will not buy an MSI product again, since this card was only 3 years old and it busted and I have bad experiences with them in the past.

I've been looking at many 1060 6gb cards and have no idea why some are more expensive than the others. Is it just a premium you pay for the brand or does it actually perform better?

This brand named PALIT caught my eye. It's significantly cheaper than other brands. Is is trustworthy?

For example. Why would I buy this Gigabyte card:

http://www.e-tec.at/frame1/details.php?art=226362

instead of this PALIT card:

http://www.e-tec.at/frame1/details.php?art=227905

Regards

Josh

Performance wise they should be pretty much identical. The main differences as far as I know is aesthetics, cooling, and acoustics. Support, warranty, and validation is also what makes some brands more expensive than others.

gigabyte card has a bit higher clock speed, and probably a higher quality pcb design.

BTW, nobody answered me that question yet: what is the performance of a gtx 1060 6gb compared to gtx 780ti? Which one is better and by how much?

they are pretty much identical. different games might have a few frames better here and there depending on the card

The 1060 is gone be better, even do the 780 TI has more raw horse power in its silicon. The 780 TI will be less optimist for than se a 1060. And these days even 1080P games ar have varying 3GB of vram.

You can always google it do. And look for game play not those dom website with out of 10

tf? almost 300 euro for 1060... vs 350 for a 980ti? get a 980ti, they perform more like 1070's

780ti performs very similar to a 1060 6gb, not really worth, to a 980ti would be a great upgrade

Ye, but most if not all of the used GPUs are out of warranty... If I buy a new 1060 it will at least have 2 years warranty. The gtx 780 ti that busted on me yesterday was not even 3 years old. I dont want to risk buying an old one without warranty  for the same price as a new 1060 with 2 years warranty.

its like 30% more performance but its up to you, id go for the palit card to mitigate costs and avoid investing into a sidegrade

the palit one has worse cooling, since it has only one fan.

that's the only disadvantage.

If you have great silicon and cooling the 980ti OC can surpass the 1070 OC performance wise in games even, good were the Maxwell days and its crazy OC's

200 euro for a 980 is a amazing deal ...

Let's agree to disagree
