would a gts 590 or gtx 690 be good for that res ?

No, no, no!

The 590 only got 1.5 GB of VRAM and the 690 got 2 GB while that resolution will take anywhere from 3-4 GB. VRAM is not everything, but without it you are kind of fucked ;)

7970 6? Was the 6 a typo?

If you meant the 7970 then yes it should be able too, but it would be cutting it close with it's 3 GBs of VRAM... Which is actually too small for that res...

Sell your 7870 and get something like a R9 290. 5760x1080 uses about 4GB of VRAM.

It'd do pretty decently.

There's a 6GB variant of the 7970.

Hmm... New to me so thanks for informing me :)

If so then a 7970 would be quite exellent for 3 1080p monitors :)

Excellent? A 290/780 sort of barely cut it as is.

what a 3gb card or 6gb

Get a 290 instead.

ok quick question inst the r9 290 run and loud ?

It's like a hairdryer. Either wait for aftermarket 290's or get an aftermarket cooler yourself like the Kraken G10 + cooler.

would a gtx 670 4gb be good for that res

4GB version is useless the 256bit memory bus makes the extra 2GB of VRAM pointless, listen to what people are telling you, for 5670x1080 recommended cards are:

HD7970 3GB

R9 280x 3GB

R9 290 4GB

R9 290x 4GB

GTX780 3GB

GTX780Ti 3GB

GTX Titan 6GB

Which ever one fits your budget and has the features you want, like Shadowplay/Gsync/Surround (NV) or Mantle/Eyefinity/TrueAudio (AMD) etc

Crossfire/SLI is preferable for these resolutions, so bare that in mind.

AMD Ryzen 5900x, Nvidia RTX 3080 (MSI Gaming X-trio), ASrock X570 Extreme4, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB @ 3200mhz CL16, Corsair MP600 1TB, Intel 660P 1TB, Corsair HX1000, Corsair 680x, Corsair H100i Platinum
