I want to make a gaming PC, did my research and made a list.

I've been doing research all summer and I'm hoping to make this budget build in the next year or so. I have some parts at home HDD, Keyboard & Mouse. But to the more experienced PC builders, I was wondering if you could go over my list and check for small compatibility issues that I may have overlooked and maybe even suggest better parts, much appreciated.

I'd wait for the i3 8100, it has the same core count but is clocked higher.

anywhere from 3.7-3.8ghz is an achievable goal,

3.9-4.1ghz if you have enough voltage and temperature wiggle room.

keep below 1.35v and 75-80c or so for 24/7 use

Personal build >  New-ish AMD main gaming setup

PLEASE QUOTE OR @ ME FOR A RESPONSE xD

Don’t buy windows from Microsoft. Go to kinguin.net.

Paul Hardware made a video on it. I’ve bought 5 window licenses from there.

Given the higher IPC of the Intel cores, it will be interesting to see how the i3-8100 benchmarks compare to the r3 1200.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

If you are worried about getting ripped off on their website. There is a buyer protection thing for less than 50 cents.  I never needed it but ya never know.

Btw it’s just the windows key not a disc or usb.

You can download installation media from microsoft's website. https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

For some reason that link is dead but it might not be when you get back to it later.

The Tomahawk isn't very good. Change it to the Pro4, Strix or Prime Plus.

Using 1x 8GB kit of RAM would allow you to upgrade more in the future.

You can get the SL308 or MX300 for less than the 850 Evo.

The Phanteks P300 costs around the same, and is arguably a better case.

The CX550M is available for less, after rebate.

OP- This is significantly better;

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i3-8100 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($0.00)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z370 HD3 (rev. 1.0) ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($225.00)
Memory: Crucial - Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($74.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: SK hynix - SL308 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($77.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB GAMING Video Card  ($259.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Phanteks - Eclipse P300 Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Case  ($66.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair - CXM (2015) 450W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($46.99 @ Amazon)
Monitor: AOC - I2269VW 21.5" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor  ($79.99 @ Best Buy)
Total: $831.93

Mobo price is for CPU+Mobo combo from Newegg. You're paying a bit much for the motherboard since only Z370 chipset is currently available but at least you can upgrade to an 8600k/8700k and overclock with no need for a new motherboard. Or even an 8350k, but that wouldn't be a reasonable upgrade anyway IMHO.

Yea but the price of the CPU isn't in the TOTAL Price. The price would be $948.93 with the i3.

1200 instead of 1300X, MSI AM4 boards are crap, 1x 8GB 3000 MHz RAM would be better, SSD Plus is crap, the SL308 or MX300 would cost about the same and be better, PSU is crap.
