Do I need new thermal pads?

So I took the heat syncs of my mobo, do in need to put a dab of paste over the pads or put on new pad or when I squeeze them back together will they be fine.

It depends on the surface area. Use an amount proportional to a pea sized dab on an area the size of an average CPU.

Usually the gap between the VRMs and heatsink is big,so should be a little more i guess?

Rice or peasized, get plastic bag over ur finger and spread it urself. MAKE SURE U CLEAN WITH ALCOHOL AND NO LINT FIBER CLOTH BEFORE
