There should be two type-c ports, not just one. There are a lot of phones with both headphone jack and type-c, so without the headphone jack the pixel 2 is missing something. Implementing a second type c port would probably take up less space than a headphone jack anyway

Or a dongle jk. I think we are at the point that manufacturers want one port to rule them all! That or a 100% wireless device (Maybe Apple has the courage to do so )

Am I the only person that actually loved the phone? I preordered it already because my 1year old mint condition 6p got the bootloop of death... This phone looks great, especially since it provides the full Google experience and I love it!

Once my 5x hits the boot loop issue, I'm probably going to patch it to continue working at the expense of performance if they don't eventually have an offer to replace it. (Nice benefit of ordering from google I guess)

I honestly love my 6p, it was built for me and it still goes strong!!!!!! Just wish it did not have to die like this

Same with my 5x besides the occasional time (once every 2 months) when the phone gets very hot (Even when its an SD808) and 2GB of ram.

The 808 runs very warm.

 

My LG G4 ran very hot at times and so did the Moto X and BB Priv

What I meant by that was that the SD810 warmed up even more and often throttled (I think that was the reason for the 808 in the G4)

Sometimes, if lucky I am able to boot into my OS, it works but throwing a lot of work at the phone seems to crash it

The 810 was worse but the 808 over time wasn't much better off.

 

I couldn't count how many times I had to take the G4 out because it ran so hot in my pocket even when asleep.

I liked it but the battery life was.... meh at best.

 

I now have a Moto Z Play, couldn't be happier. I really like the SD625.

I remember wrapping the phone in layers of ice in bags surrounding the phone and that didn't help much. Also didn't help that this would continue to happen even after rebooting or turning it off for a minute. The issue seems to happen less frequently with the ElementalX kernel but I don't know the cause.

Yeah I know. I just find it too annoying to be wired to a powerbank.

 

I have a Turbopowermod, which is so easy to bring with you, stick it on the phone.

The 6p also got really hot without a xase, I have decided to just get the s8+

If you move anywhere outside your home, small objects are VERY EASY to lose, especially if traveling.

Only if you have little kids or are careless. It's the same thing with micro-usb cables -- people seem to manage to burn through them, meanwhile, my Micro-B cable from six years ago is still working just fine.
