Samsung's component division will make more money off the iPhone X than the Galaxy S8

Doubt it will happen. The person in charge of Samsung's components branch is different from the person in charge of its mobile devices division. The former is not going to risk his career progression and his bonus just to help the latter gain an edge over Apple. There’s just nothing in it for him.

Wonder how long until Samsung just makes all the world's electronics. I can't think of any conglomerate in such a similar position in the industry.

From my point of view,  I've had 2 samsung tablets,  2 phones. My 1 st tablet I loved it was back  in 2012, apologies for not remembering which one it was I'm an older lady with some drinking and well nevermind let's just say I've killed some brain cells in my time. The newer everything of samsung I despise! Who the hell makes devices with NO INTERNAL STORAGE, and then loafs them up with crap app BLOAT?  Samsung does. That should of stuck with just tv's I'll never buy another samsung product  not even their tv. Thank you.

First of all there are certainly contracts in place, Apple won't just go out and design an OLED phone without making sure Samsung is going to supply them. Secondly, people don't buy iphones for the new screen. Third, Samsung's phone manufacturing branch is just a small part of a massive corporate conglomerate - if they make more money by selling screens they have no reason to refuse.

I think brain cells don't get killed by alcohol consumption and that was a myth, what does get weaker is the dendrites (connections) between brain cells.

Samsung's COMPONENT division makes more on each iPhone sale than Galaxy sale. It says nothing about how much Samsung (as a whole) makes from Galaxy sales vs. iPhone sales.

It's an oled display vs the previous lcd displays. The cost of those were 45

 The Apple iPhone 8 Plus has a bill of materials cost of $288.08,  as per some anyalyst. It sells for 800  Thats 512 in profit for the 64gb model. Gross not net. Iphone X doesnt have many parts besides the Screen and Face id Sensors to make it more expensive that im aware of. I could see samsung making decent profit off the screen though 110 is too much Imo its probably the cost not the profit. would probbaly make the iphone x around 380-420 cost imo netting them somewhere around 600 in profit.

Judging by your comment it sounds like you are from the year 2013, when the Galaxy S 4 was released.

 

This might come as a shock to you, but the current Galaxy S/Note phones comes with 64GB minimum as storage, has microSD card slot, and also contains minimal amounts of bloat/uninstallable apps.

In fact, I could only find 15 apps that could not be uninstalled on my S7, and that is including phone, settings, gallery, the download folder, and so on (roughly the same as on iOS). My G4 for comparison has 36 uninstallable programs.

The AM part stands for "active matrix", which just specifies how the pixels are addressed. I don't think there are any passive matrix OLED displays out there, so all OLED panels that I am aware of uses active matrix and can therefore be called AMOLED.

This actually puts Samsung in a position where they can not only make money from Apple (since Samsung is the only OLED displays and other hardware in large quantity, but they can also hamper / delay manufacturing plans. Could be that more iPhones are manufactured than sold - as a result if you distribute the costs over phones sold the amount is higher

Yeah, it is very weirdly worded. Like Samsung only makes money if an iPhone is sold, not by Apple paying to have Samsung manufacture the screens.

 

I'm not sure if it's a manufactured thing or a per iPhknr sold because of licensing or something like that. It wasn't too clear.

 

Plus, I would assume Samsung would continue to make money with replacement screens as well?
