Monitor recommendations for 1080ti

So I did something a little bit stupid, I bought a 1080ti and still only have a 60hz 1080p panel, but I've been looking into a new primary monitor and can't gauge where I should be aiming.

 

Atm I think that 1440p 144hz would be a good choice, as I think it should allow me to do high/max in most games and get 144hz, but I'm not sure if this is the right decision.

 

Any advice/recommendations would be much appreciated.

Probably 4k 60hz or 1440p 100+

Budget?

Do you see the need for 144hz? If you do not play CS:GO and plays a lot of single player games you might as well go for higher image quality and resolution over refresh rate.

I play a lot of shooters and racing games so I figure the higher refresh rate would be nice. Budget wise I'd say I don't really want to spend much more than £500 preferably less.

I'd suggest a 1440p 144 Hz G-sync 27" model, if they're in budget. I got similar recently, but it's a 24" one. For desktop use, I find it a bit of an eye test. I think the next size up would have hit my personal sweet spot.

 

I had tried 144 Hz (1080p) non-G-sync in the past and that didn't feel as good a G-sync, so smooth and solid when rotating view in any game.

 

One thing I'm not sure about is IPS or not. Budget might dictate not anyway. My current monitor is TN and while I find it good for gaming, it just doesn't look as good as IPS for other uses. I'm also not sure how the slower IPS response might impact the performance at high refresh rates.

Just noticed system in sig, is that where the 1080 Ti is going? I'm not familiar with that generation of AMD CPU performance, but I would have concern it may not enable the higher fps rates. Worth further research.
