Some sort of redundant pump system? If it's reliable quiet and fits your build I'd go for it. Though I've found any D5 pump is usually very reliable and a redundant pump isn't really necessary.

Though a spare pump would be nice to have around. This would cut out the middle man when a pump fails.

I was thinking a back up pump as well as using it to increase water flow pressure since they can be used to push the same body of water and I plan to add some more 360mm rad to my system

Compared to my loop I don't think you'll have any issues.

Considering the poseidon and BP ef are both low resistance a single D5 should be fine, no doubt you could easily add several more rads with no issue.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Looks quite...interesting. If flow rate is an issue in a loop then this is a good solution for staying away from 5.25 Bayres options. Hiding 2nd pump somewhere in series is much prettier though

I had to use dual D5 but it was to overcome a 3 foot straight rise to bayres in a primo loop with two 360 one 240 one 140 dual 980ti blocks plus cpu.

Grab normal single D5 unit then~ EK-XRES are quite cheap to expand when needed the major cost is the D5 itself honestly then you wont have to deal with the lousy pump! unless your res takes D5 pumps too then the fix is like $70

after searching i had to go to barrowint.com but this is the pump top i have installed and on top of that looks like a 25cm res that screws into it. i showed @W-L and we concluded the pump looks and is claimed to be a d5 but it really is not so im not sure if it can take a d5 with my combo. otherwise im happy to ditch the chinese cheapo pump and use something from aquacomp

I think you may be able to just swap the barrow pump for regular D5 and call it a day.. unless you really want something new :) it also means it will work with the 755 model of the D5 too.

Yep!! the fancy pump ring that matches -may- not work on that so you may need to use the stock pump ring to hold it down otherwise its golden. There is hope yet :P

Just grab whichever yep~  they are literally all the same you can only buy PWM, Vario, Strong (24v) or Normal the extra cost is the sticker and pumptop if it has one. EK one just has more plastic hiding it and the fancy top :D . Vario is good because you can run it full speed when filling the loop without turning the pc on then PWM is good due to pwm control but it runs at 50% when filling loop with pc off. Normal is always full speed.

For simple loops DDC works fine its just aircooled instead of liquid cooled.

Single quality pump will be fine. Especially with such few items in the loop. No benefit of the extra flow/pressure.

Main RIg Corsair Air 540, I7 9900k, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero, G.Skill Ripjaws 3600 32GB, 3090FE, EVGA 1000G5, Acer Nitro XZ3 2560 x 1440@240hz

Spare RIg Lian Li O11 AIR MINI, I7 4790K, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, G.Skill Ares 2400 32Gb, EVGA 1080ti, 1080sc 1070sc & 1060 SSC, EVGA 850GA, Acer KG251Q 1920x1080@240hz
