My room is ******* cold!

Timmyfox

I usually switch off my heaters when I leave for more than a week, so when I came back from my family after christmas last year, my Phenom II 965 idled at 15°C using air cooling and not overclocking.

THIS SIGNATURE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK

Unfortunately it's too cold for actually being in the room xD

It's like 15C room temp if not less, I had to get my shoes and a slightly thicker shirt to be able to just walk into the room. And that's me who's been shirtless in -15C xD

First thing I did after checking the PC temps was to turn the heat radiator up all the way - after about 10 minutes it still pretty chilly in here!

Solution: from now on go in your room wearing your outdoor clothing and use your PC like before, but with gloves on your hands...

Or just OC the hell out of your rig.

15?

My room is always at 17..

At 18+ I start cooking.

Your boiling point seems to be really low...

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

290X would also work but has the side effect of being loud as heck

my room gets down to about 16C at night. good things is my 4.7Ghz FX6350 stays under 50

AMD's in my experience is pretty cool though. My old Phenom II 1090T (6-core) used to max out at 30C during load when running on air. Idle it was 20-25C.

Seen it run at 15C when running in an icy room (10-ish room temp)

I approve of this reply.

-20C (-4F) is a typical winter temperature where I live. if you go more north you'll find temps in the -40 and even -50s

I honestly think 30C (86F) is uncomfortably hot.

I rarely have the luxury of using the heating as there are big temperature changes.

Get 6 290 and plug it into an asrock or biostar bitcoin mining motherboard with an i5 4430(higher tdp). All of them should utilize the stock cooler, especially the i5 should use an aluminum based one instead of copper.
