What Would You Do?

FoxAxe

So i can´t choose

do i buy a gtx 1080ti pretty much now with ryzen 7 1700?

or should i wait volta?

or should i buy like a gtx 1060 3/6gb or 1050ti for now and then upgrade to volta when it comes (its rumored to Release in early 2018) i dont know if i can sell my the 1060 or 1050ti. Big loosly populated country so its hard (Finland)

i have 750€ for the gpu but if i buy like a gtx 1060 6gb i have only 450€ for volta gpu so would it just make sense just to buy the gtx 1080ti

waiting is hard for me becouse my current pc is 8 years old so i can only play very old games and some newer games with lowest settings and 30fps

i want 5years out of my gtx 1080ti if i get it I dont care about the resolution or the settings when it gets older i just want to play the game with a playable framerate

but i would like to get a good gpu for now  like 2 years of 1440p gaming and then 1080p low settings for rest 3years

i know no one of us can know for sure but what would you do? would rgx 1080ti last me 5 years if volta recks it in early 1018 .

i have saved for A LONG time so i want to play for atleast 5 years with the new games

Volta wont come in early 2018. Nvidia has delayed it. Official reason is "lack of reasons to not do so", my guess is "bad yields (more than wanted amount of products fail the QC stage)"

1080ti itself is good enough for 4K 60Hz at high settings now, so 5 years later I still expect it to do 1440p 60Hz at high settings.

but when volta releases.. isn't it better to wait until the next one comes that's even more powerful?

waiting for new hardware releases, unless it's a fairly short time until release, becomes an evil circle.. there will always be something newer and better coming out if you wait..

i say buy it now and enjoy yourself.. you can always sell the 1080ti and buy volta after release if you still want..

Have you tried to perform a sudden temporary interrupt of the electricity flow to your computational device followed by a re-initialization procedure of the central processing unit and associated components?
