Noctua D14 upgrade or nah?

wildgg

Hey LTT,

recently removed my custom water cooling loop and switched back to air cooling.

i had a Noctua D14 laying around so that's what i am using right now.

so for the question: is there any better air cooler out there as a upgrade from my current D14?

if yes it needs to support 120mm fans! i'm currently using the thermaltake riing 12 rgb led 120mm on the D14 and i like the looks of them.

cpu is a 4790k @4.7 with 1.35V

here are my current temps with aida64 cpu/fpu/cache 15min stress test: https://imgur.com/fNtaYOL

ambient room temperature = 22C

thx in advance

Well nah, there aren't alot of aircoolers out there beating the D14/15. If anything there are different brands with very similar performance.

The D14 is still beast, keep it.

No point replacing with a different air cooler. You'd be looking at very (very) few degrees of performance increase.
