No, to play VR games you should really have a 1060 6GB (minimum)

The 970 is the minimum for VR iirc, but yeah, VR with a 1050 Ti would be an awful experience

I just run to my local memory express and play VR games on a 7900X and two 1080Tis in SLI

On Steam's VR test, a 1060 is considered "ready". I'd expect a 1050TI to dead center of the "capable" range.

 

On a separate note; with a 1600 and a 1060, the 1060 is the "bottleneck" part.

No. I played with my 780ti, and even that was an unsatisfactory experience. If you play on a 1050ti and an i5 650, you'll be stuck with minimum settings with permanent 45 fps with reprojection, and even then it may drop frames.
