My Hopes For The Ultimate Monitor

BatyGaming

I'm looking into getting a new monitor in the not so distant future.

Does anyone know of a monitor that can do 1080p/1440p at 144Hz and 4K at 60Hz.

My PC can run it as it has a 7700k and a 1080Ti

Thanks in advance, Luke.

Most 4K monitors are limited to 60 Hz at all resolutions. The only one I know of the NEC PA322UHD which can do 120 Hz at 1080p, but it's not really a monitor meant for normal people.

I don't believe there's a monitor that works like that.

There's the Predator X27 coming out sometime in the next 6 months, but it's probably going to cost around $2,500 iirc.

ok then, 1440p at 144hz or 4k at 60hz?

You are going to get a lot more mileage out of 1440p high refresh rate. If you get IPS on top of that (assuming you have the budget) it would look extremely crisp as well as perform excellent. Probably for years to come. 1080 ti is kind of a monster. However if you go 4k your performance on new games will degrade much more rapidly. I would suggest getting:

This if you have a big budget

or this if you are looking to spend a little less for g sync and high refresh rate but you don't mind not having IPS

or if all you care about is 1440p high refresh rate then this is pretty budget friendly

Keep in mind these are in Canadian as thats where I am, and I have tax for the region added on. so maybe click through to the American stuff if thats where you are.

also the performance decrease is why i wanted both. @Adreyu

I don't really know of any monitor that does both. There is one coming out but its going to be stupidly expensive. I think if thats what you want you may just have to bite the bullet and get both. However if you are looking for one to just have high refresh rate and the other to be 4k, you could save a lot of money by going 1080p 144hz-165hz and simple 60hz 4k. But for me, 1440p is a good middle ground and I am happy with it.

thats a great idea

i was looking at https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-MG28UQ-3840x2160-Monitor-FreeSync/dp/B01B6JD2R6

so a cheap 1080p monitor would be handy if someone could find one?

Can do!

Heres 1080p 165hz g-sync
