140mm or 120mm fan for rear

xsimplyjosh

I'm trying to run this air cooling set up of fans, preferably all ML140 and ML120 red LED variants is the choice.

2x exhaust on top [radiator & h100i v2] n stock corsair Fans.

3x intake on front 140mm

1x Stock Cooler master exhaust 140mm Fan on rear.

Im looking to change the 3x front to 140mm red LED look either SP140 or ML140.

my question is For going with a positive air pressure would you think 120mm or 140mm as rear is better in terms of personal preference? primarily asking because the price difference between ML120 and ML140 in my country is about 13$ [32 vs 45] so kinda steep

I always stick the biggest thing I can into the slot for maximum performance...

Sexual innuendos aside, i dont think the price difference is worth it. a 120mm and 140mm wont perform that much different from eachother, so I'd go with the 120

Forgot to include; Given the case im working with is a cooler master mastercase 5, it is pretty big in terms of space already, non restricted airflow from front since i axed the Optical disk drive and the hard drive sits at the bottom part of the shroud.

im probably gonna be looking at it that 140mm doesn't have to spin as fast as the 120mm [rpm wise] to push the same amount of air

Might just end up getting the 120mm instead and save the 13$...  since it matches the 120mm rads at the top :) ... i agree with your comment too.

This is the main reason I love my three 200mm fans in my case. Great for open air! Not so much for RADs though lol

for the rads i was content with the h100i v2 low price and discount at that time... im not sure how much better with the h115i/h110i would be because due to the nature of the bracket on the top it would only fit 2x 140mm fans at max so it essentially would be operating in a pull config like it or not. so willing to make a few compromise in and out.

3x 200mm O_o im guessing your case is very boxy [the CM mastercase is kinda hexagonal-like despite the large width. [240mm]

Yeah I'll probably miss it once i upgrade well. 200mm fans have spoiled me (I might throw one in the 380t this system will eventually move into)
