Posted August 26, 2017 Is an IPS with 60hz good for gaming specifically an Acer R240HY? Ive heard that they have worse input lag than a tn panel, Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/827085-ips-for-gaming/ Share on other sites
 Posted August 26, 2017 I started with a nice ips monitor(Asus ProArt) cause I wanted nice colors and didnt care about input lag even though I played games like cs. Eventually I did upgrade to a 144hz tn monitor and im glad I have the ips cause I use it for watching videos and any color work. Personally im glad I went with a nice ips then upgraded to a high refreshrate. If you play games like cs and need the response time then go for it. If not then IPS is perfectly fine. Posted August 26, 2017 I have an r240hy, at it's not fair to compare it to high refresh rate tn panels. They are over double the cost. If it was 1440p60 vs1080p144, I know which I would have. I mean unless you play professional gamer. Majority of the time, im not gaming all of the time and if i play game i like my game quality on max and usually have stable 60 or 100. But when i was into csgo dem fresh rate means alot. You have say to yourself, if you do work majority of the time. I would get ISP monitor and just game on that ISP, you won't notice unless you playing competitive games. Magical Pineapples
