Is anyone waiting for Coffee Lake?

Eh, not really waiting for it.

Current computer (OC'd X58 6c/12t xeon) does everything I need it to. I'm content buying a better GPU at some point to run the newer games and leaving everything else alone. I don't feel a need to upgrade CPU, and haven't...since X58 was a thing.

I was leaning towards building a crazy powerful threadripper or X299 rig but then realized all I do on my home computer is game, and only do that a handful of times a month. Better GPU would be most noticeable and the best bang for the buck upgrade. I have a crazy powerful workstation at work to do...work on. I don't need anything fancier than what I have at home to game on.

likely everyone will OC the 8700k to a 4.2GHz minimum

I sure am waiting, it operates at 4.3 on all cores stock turbo btw, single threaded up to 4.7 o.0

definitely keen to try for 4.8+ on all cores, i was going to wait for ryzen 2.0 to see if they can get their IPC and frequencies up a bit but, intel has waved a dismissive hand and just plopped out a very attractive offering to trounce the 1700.
