A single person's experience is never all inclusive. Just because you didn't have a good experience with SLI doesn't mean other people can't either.

SLI 1070 where SLI scaling is applicable will be faster than a 1080 Ti, but not by much. It would be better to go with a GTX 1080 Ti for the sake of consistency.

I fail to see where I ever said I didn't have a good experience with it, I simply stated that in the best case scenario a 1070 sli is about the same as a 1080ti, so going straight 1080ti saves a lot of trouble.
