So to keep it simple I plan to upgrade from my gtx 1050ti after the mining craze has relaxed some. I currently have a 600 watt bronze power supply. I have my r7 1700 clocked at 3.4ghz and from the stock voltage of 1.2 down to 1.0875v so lets say it uses stock just to keep stuff simple. I have seen that the r7 1700 uses 83ish watts all the way to 125 watts and I've even heard more. Counting in motherboard power and stuff how much do you guys think on the safe side I have to work with? Do you think that if I can get my hand on one of the vega 64 it would be better? ( I've heard it uses a lot of power but wasn't sure if they ment comparably). aka What do you guys suggest?

What is the exact model of the PSU you are currently using? 600W should be enough for R7 and Vega 64 system since these two won't use more than 450W, but not all Bronze units are good.

There is 80plus Bronze and there is 80plus Bronze...

There are units that are perfectly fine, there are units that are better used as a paper weight.

Anyway, for that rig, even a 200W PSU should handle it fine...

For a high end graphics card you might want a 400W PSU or something like that...

What PSU do you have? I'd guess an EVGA 600B which is fine for a 1050 Ti but I don't know that for certain.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

TBH I wouldn't run a Vega card on a 600B or equivalent, maybe a Pure Power 10... It's less a case of not enough power and more a case of having a budget PSU for a high end build = bad idea...
