If you want to be able to support lots of drives, you can't go past the Norco RPC-42XX series. You'll need a SAS controller to connect to the SAS backplane.

I've had good experiences with scorptec this case looks good https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Cases/Server-&-Rackmount/63833-TGC-416B?gclid=CjwKCAjw2ZXMBRB2EiwA2HVD-H15DaXBpMVLwdQWemWo5rY8HGdq5aF0zbWmpuGxf3SixM1e_C-ZTRoC8V4QAvD_BwE

i just recommend replacing the fans with noctua ones. This case is designed to be in a server room where noise is not an issue. However if it's sitting in your closet like mine will Be then you won't appreciate server grade fans basting air though the server 24/7. The good thing about servers is everything is super expensive so while your erning the money to buy it you've got a ton of time to plan. Watch reviews, read up and then make your decision

$40 on amazon, type pcie sata bus 8 sata ports. It should have 2 sas ports per card. DONT GET AN ITX MOBO!! You won't be able the expand to many drives and get a 10gbp/s link to your pc

I'm not aware of any SAS HBA's for cheaper than about US$80 on Amazon?
