What do you consider "playable" FPS?

miyabwah

60, 50ish is ok but once it reaches 45, it becomes a slideshow..

Personally I don't care for Multiplayer games so 60 is fine with me :) And no I don't lower my settings to get that ;)

30 is the absolute lowest I'll go, and that's only if it happens here and there. I have to have 60+fps at most times.

Only yesterday was I flinging curses at the creators of Assassins creed 4 for their inability to keep their game at a steady 60 FPS on a Geforce 680, even with EVERYTHING turned down to low. It still bloody tanked down to 40-something frames no matter what I did, also highly inconsistent. At any rate, while I would call that "playable" I would also call it a right pain up the arse and I really want to see 60.

I like having the frame rate the same as the refresh rate of my monitor(60) vsync (I can't stand tearing and shearing). However if I can't get it this high due to demanding graphics I will try to get it as high as I can. Anything less than 45 is really noticeable and IMHO not enjoyable.

30fps is good enough for me.

Why you ask?

I try to keep it above 60 for bf4. Anything above 45 is fine for single player. I answered 50 or better in the poll because that's good enough for bf4 before I start to notice it. Good thing I get 70+ frames on ultra. I should turn down my aa though to reduce latency though.

I try to always run at about sixty, I'll deal with like 50 or something but not anything lower than like 40.

Certain games 30fps is fine.

Realistically 45 is where I am most comfortable.

45 - 50 is doable, 60 is the smoothest (on a 60Hz monitor at least haha).

If it stably maintains 30 FPS, then it's playable.

Those voting 60+ are fooling themselves. I would be surprised if they could pass a "blind" test.

It doesn't bug me until it hits around 50fps. Then I really notice it and it makes me pretty much cringe :P. I've gotten to the point where 60 bothers me, I've used gotten to 70 on my panel. I'm excited, and hopeful that my new 1440p korean panel will hit 120hz :)

@applebook I disagree entirely, people's eyes are different. Hell, Linus did a blind test and he was right every time. He was testing the difference between 60 and 120, and could easily see the difference.

Multiplayer, 60 FPS minimum with a goal of 80FPS average or more.

Single player, 30 minimum so long as the game is actually smooth at the lowered framerate, some games stutter like crazy when below anything 60FPS.

The only time 1 FPS is acceptable is minesweeper.

29 is like a minimum for me until it goes to unplayable.

If I'm having fun: maybe 45+

For competitive fast actiony games like CSS, Battlefield, TF2: 60+ FPS.

bs, i need 120fps+ for minesweeper to be enjoyable :P
