Hey guys.

Looking for some advice/recommendations for some parts for my first PC build! I plan on only gaming and am looking to be able to game in 1440p eventually, but am only going to game in 1080p to start. I plan on mainly playing FPS games such as H1Z1, PUBG, and Destiny 2 when it releases and maybe some adventure games like Witcher 3. I do not plan on overclocking right away but will eventually so I'd like to get parts that are overclockable because I don't think it'll be long before I overclock my system. I have a couple parts that I have in mind but am always open to suggestions since I am new to PC tech and know a lot of people here know a looooot more than I do but those parts are GTX 1070 ($440), and the NZXT S340 ($70). My budget is $1200 USD before peripherals. If there's any other questions please feel free to ask! Thanks in advance to anyone that replies!

the review emargo hasn't been lifted yet, but as far as leaks and stuff it doesn't look promising at all

i mean high TDP, performance on par with 1080 or smt for the higher and ones but costs more (according to leaks)

Only now, the 1600 will be sweet spot cause I don't see games using 8 cores in a long time

yeah there is actually proof of this when it was tested the performance of dx 12 engine with a certain amount of cores. after 6 there was no performance gains. that being said if you play a game and do something else at the same time then the 8 core may make a difference but tbh i find this to be super what if.

nah newer leaks show that it will cost 500 for base 550 for limited edition and i think 600 or something for the liquid cooled version

consumes more power though. so with the money saved you'd end up with a beefier gpu

but we'll see, leaks are just leaks and recommending something that is even out is wrong because no one can predict the future
