I mean, gpus are like cpus in that there are only a few ways to get the desired end result. Each way requires a lot of resources and development. So once on a path, if you chose an architecture that is not panning out to be a high performer long term but don't have the resources to start again, then this is what it can look like.

Well monitors vs actual performance as a selling point confirmed: They're pushing a 200 bucks rebate on an ultrawide freesync display and gave that to press (watch towards the end) Also confirmed that the air version is 290 watts card on a damn blower:
