But the problem is that I added 2GB and I am not even able to use 1GB extra?!

but.. have you or have you not set java -Xmx to a higher amount? its not because you tell java/minecraft to use X number of GB that it'll actually use it.

also, if you cant set Xmx past 1GB, that means you arent running 64 bit.

I had 4GB of RAM (ok I'm cheap). I added 2GB, first I was able to use 990MB, but now I can't even use 1800MB, what's wrong?

you know that the moment you have enough of it memory has a really low impact on performance right?

and as for your case, you're an idiot if you even think that APU has anywhere near the performance to push the kind of minecraft server that needs high amounts of memory.

besides, are you using 64-bit?

you NEED better than an E-450 APU, and because you have no idea what you're doing you think you just need more ram.

You run the server through a batch script with an argument of ram allocation.

EX: "java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.1.8.9.jar nogui"

Xmx****M is how much ram

|Casual Rig| CPU: i5-6600k |MoBo: ROG Gene  |GPU: Asus 670 Direct CU2 |RAM: RipJaws 2400MHz 2x8GB DDR4 |Heatsink: H100i |Boot Drive: Samsung Evo SSD 240GB|Chassis:BitFenix Prodigy |Peripherals| Keyboard:DasKeyboard, Cherry MX Blue Switches,|Mouse: Corsair M40

|Server Specs| CPU: i7-3770k [OC'd @ 4.1GHz] |MoBo: Sabertooth Z77 |RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 2x8GB |Boot Drive: Samsung 840 SSD 128GB|Storage Drive: 4 WD 3TB Red Drives Raid 5 |Chassis:Corsair 600t

CD /D "%BINDIR%"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_131\bin\java.exe" -Xms1800M -Xmx1900M -jar spigot-1.12.jar
goto start

what is 64-bit?

your os?

your java runtime?

the java runtime you're actually using?

because the moment those checkmarks pass, you tell minecraft how huch ram it's allowed to use, and it'll use however much it needs to, up to the amount you said.

fyi, the AMD E-450 is about 1cm by 1cm, which houses both cpu and gpu, totalling somewhere below 20 watts if memory serves correctly.
