Posted July 13, 2017 Basically building a $20 build 1 x Dell Optiplex 755 SFF (E5650) ($3) 1 x GT 640 ($15) basically, i got the optiplex, put in my spare geforce 210 (because my gt 640 was not ready), installed windows 10 with geforce 210 drivers, updated the BIOS and performed some tests. everything was fine. however, when i swapped out my video card for my gt 640, it took a long time for my tv to detect it and when it did, it said 'display mode not available'. what should i do? if you are interested, the monitor was a Philips 55' FHD TV. I do have one more monitor but it is ancient and only accepts VGA and DVI. I have a VGA cable but no DVI cable and the gt 640 does not have VGA as output so yeah. Yeh, I can get a gtx 670 for $40 but is it really recommended for a c2d cpu? I'll have to get a new cpu and the prices would slowly increase. I understand, but for just CSGO it should be fine, if I get that gpu upgrade to a gtx 670 for example, I'd have to get a power supply as well. If it failed to work then you have to DDU the drivers first, and use the 640 to install the drivers A 750ti is really the best option.
