HELP: Planning to build PC with $1000 CAD

Hi, I'm located here at Manitoba and we have a store here called MemoryExpress where they price match other retailers. Looking for assistance in finding good deals of a gaming pc with a budget of $1000 CAD. I'll use it for casual gaming like DOTA 2 and maybe some new titles as well.

MemoryExpress

your best bet is Amazon or other online retailers, use PC part picker, memory Express doesn't offer the best value, you can try price matching.

Sorry to say that you did not pick a great time to build a PC in that price bracket. The GPU market has been completely messed up for high end graphics cards because of the cripto currency mining craze. that being said, you should be able to find good deals on other components. I would recommend going with a ryzen 7 1700 based system and buying a used GPU sourced from your local craigslist or ebay. You would want to look for a 980 or 980ti most likely. good luck.

Do you need a monitor and peripherals

Yes, I'd include the monitor to the budget but not the other peripherals.

Id see what your local craigslist or used stores like good will or salvation army have. I picked up my main 27 inch 1080p monitor at salvation army for just 9$.

meh. The 980ti is very similar to a 1070 in performance all be it with higher power draw. Just make sure you get a decent psu and go with a used 980 or 980ti based on what you find on the cheap.

Alright, it's a risk I'll consider since I'm looking at used 980ti's. But I think it will be worth it if it all goes well

good, exept do not buy the G4560 as its price is artificially inflated atm. Go with the better G4620 for just a few dollars more.

Woudn't call 50 bucks a few dollars

The problem seems to be world wide. But maybe my sources are wrong.
