4K Gaming Build

I'm planning on building a 4K gaming build i have a budget of around $1800. This is my first time making a PC and so need some help with some of the parts, currently this is what i am thinking of getting:

CPU: Intel - Core i7-7700K
CPU Cooler: Corsair - H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard:
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
Storage: Corsair - Force MP500 120GB M.2-2280 SSD
               Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Graphics Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Founders Edition

Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+

I have no clue on which mother board to purchase and if I am missing any parts, for the case i was considering the Corsair - Air 540 ATX Mid Tower Case and for OS i will be running windows 10.

Any suggestions are welcome, i haven't purchased anything yet.

any motherboard that has the features you want, and Z270 chipset. H270 cant overclock.

you might want to wait for vega RX and volta, vega RX should come out later this month and volta will be announced in september or october. basically, more performance if you wait a bit longer, or the same performance but for cheaper.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

It's rumoured for Volta isn't becoming a consumer card we have to wait and see but RX Vega sounds like it's not going to be that expensive but up there and a 1060 6gb is fine for 4K gaming if you don't mind low settings

well nvidia has to release something this september/october. volta is just the codename for their next generation of gpus, like skylake and baby lake, i mean kaby lake.

Nope a 980 can to BF1 (i7 6700, 16gb of ram, 980 reference) medium settings, and I said "Rumoured" so take it with a grain of salt

You don't need dual 1080TIs at all you can do 4k gaming with a 1060 and you're really misinformed about 4k gaming

Yeah but modded minecraft is an odd type of game most mod packs are unplayable for me right now due to me having a shitty laptop (in signature)

why are you encouraging OP to not play at ultra when he has the budget to do so, and is aiming for that anyways?

OP get rid of the M.2 ssd and get a 250gb sata one instead, M.2 doesn't actually improve boot times or app launch times over sata. You'd be better off with more space.

Of course there's gonna be consumer volta gpus, they just aren't gonna be based off gv100. And Vega isn't gonna beat the 1080 ti so not worth waiting for.

Yeah well guess what? Low settings looks like crap.

I don't mind waiting a couple months to do this build so would it be worth the wait to get one of those GPUs

It's hard to say wait or go now because of the mining boom with the mid range cards and we know that AMDs cards are great for Etheruim but we don't know of RX Vega if it's going to be good or not

It won't be, they use HBM2 which is crap for mining. Performance in gaming is still unknown though.

looks pretty good, any Z270 motherboard should be good so get one that fitts your needs for I/O, internal headers and that optionaly looks good. i dont care much about the last part but a lot of people do

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

I would not settle for anything less than GTA V @ ultra above 80FPS, the more FPS you have in GTA V the faster your cars are, but it doesn't matter how fast your cars are if they look bad

so I just play it at 1440p above 100 fps
