crossfire with a 480 and a mining 480

i dont know if these are even out yet, but would it be possible to buy a mining 480 for a lower price and put it in cfx with my other one?

Theoretically I guess they could, but there is no guarantee that they will base the mining cards after existing GPU designs or will allow them to be used for anything other than mining. 

 

My guess is no. 

 

Also these "mining GPUs" will not solve any problems, the miner will just buy up all the mining cards and move onto gobble up the standard cards. 

 

Mining just needs to stop Imo.

why are you hating on miners? they have just as much of a right to buy gpus as you do. just because theyre using it for a different purpose isnt necessarily bad

If it were up to me Mining would not be legal, or it would at least be taxed.

The problem I see with mining is that it's just a very ephemeral and volatile business. Manufacturers can't account for the demand, and they can't infinitely ramp up production. The only legit reason to hate on miners - the way I see it - is the subsequent RMA exploitation and used market flooding with fatigued cards. Other than that, I really can't see an objective reason to hate on miners. Granted, the practice of people previously completely uninterested in gaming sweeping up vast quantities of gaming-oriented hardware is annoying as hell. On the other hand, they truly do have the same right to - sadly - nab them as anyone else. And the sad bit is, in the meantime, record profits are being made with these stretched supplies.

You do know I think it should be taxed because you are the one making money off of it, people who crossfire aren't......

RX and GTX GPU's are meant for gaming, go buy a Quadro or an old R9 270, and why would you tax someone using a professional computer? they arent earning any money and if they did they maybe yes they should get taxed.
