So this guy in my country started mining BurstCoin by using HDD, which is actually very efficent since it's only 13W per HDD but don't know yet how profitable will it be

I tried mining burst coin, main that was the buggiest software ive ever worked with. Couldn't get it to mine and i tried many systems.

Probably.  How can you mine with a HDD anyway?  It's just data storage unless I'm missing something.

I have no idea, I didn't look at it, but I assume the more space you have avaible for use and the longer the time you have it available you earn currency. That's the only way I can imagine it works.

Modern HDDs and SSDs have ARM processors. They typically act as slave processors that only hand queues, but they can be exploited to execute basic code.

Though if HDDs are the device behind getting "currency," you're either being paid in monopoly money to hide something, or something is doing basic processing.

It makes about as much sense to me as how Bitcoin is worth money.  lol

Still seems odd that a HDD could be somehow used to make money.  ?
