Best Cpu cooler for r7 1700

DekaRanger

Hello.

I am wondering what is the best cooler for the r7 1700. What is the best cooler so that I can see the all the ram slots, cool and quiet? I have been looking at the Cryorig R1 Universal but have read that the slim fan is somewhat noisy.

If I missed anything important just ask. Thank you in advance.

if you want to avoid all ram issues and want some high quiet clocks i would recommend a 240 aio or similar

If you're looking at the R1, I'm assuming you're overclocking? The stock cooler is capable of a decent overclock if your motherboard doesn't suck, and the Wraith Spire looks sexy with its RGB ring. Oh, and it's quiet.

If you need something beefier, the Cryorig H7 is designed for zero RAM interference. An AIO might actually be the best bet of all for you if you want quiet, full visibility of your RAM and a hefty OC.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

Either an AIO, Hyper 212 Evo, or the BeQuite! Dark Rock Pro 3.

I am overclocking. I forgot to mention that, my apoligies. I was thinking about an aio but they cost 40$+ compared to the most expensive air cooler(nh-d15). Is it possible to get something beefier than an H7 and still  have no ram clearance issues?

or what about the noctua cooler that is slightly pushed over to give more clearance, sorry that i cant remember the model number

If you want an aio I recommend the Celsius s24, if you're more into air cooling nh d15 for performance or dark rock pro 3 for silence.

its true due to radiator thickness and how the stock blows directly onto the packet removing heat dierctly by skipping the heat pipes and stuff

I was thinking about the dark rock pro 3 aswell but it covers the first ram slot and the d15 fans ruin it for me.

I would rather not modify things like that since I am no handy man and would like to just put everything together and not having to do anything extra.

Perhaps you could move the back fan to the front? There's a mounting area on the front for another fan so you could just move the blocking fan there instead for the dark rock pro 3.

im not either which is why i used tape for first installation and then one year after when the tape began to flake i bit the bullet and it worked perfectly so my advice is be careful and precise and use lots of tape to cover the fan hub and you have little to no chance of significantly damaging your fan

Stock cooler is pretty good, otherwise I suggest an AIO such as the cheaper deepcool captain. Large air coolers are good but may obstruct RAM

Noctua NH-D15 is not too bad if speaking about RAM clearance

(excuse the poor drawing)

Assume each of the column of dollar signs is a fan, the column of number signs is a space where you can put a fan (but is currently empty), and the little corridor things are the sticking up radiators. The dark rock pro 3 has three fan mount locations, two of them come populated with fans (the $ signs).

One of these fans is blocking your ram slot, let's say it's the one on the far right. There are fans in the middle and on the far right. What you could do is take that one on the far right that's blocking the ram slot and moving it to the far left insteads, so that it would look like this instead.

H5 Universal would be my immediate response, but then you're back to the thin fan that's a bit noisier.

Top-down coolers like the NH-C14S or C1 are also options here, I'd think, but you're paying a premium for those and the performance doesn't really warrant it.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.
