So we just moved into a new place and the transport went fine however I ordered a dehumidifier for the basement from amazon but it isn't coming for at least another 8 days. Do I risk setting up my PC without it for a week or is having a dehumidifier needed at all times. Will it last a week or do my PC damage? If so I won't but my patience is so thin not sure if I'll last.

@Saiyan the rig im using right now does reside in a basement, correct, and also get the dehumidifier if you want one for the actual humidity but presence of one will not effect your computer in any way

If there's enough humidity in your basement to damage your computer, your health is at a much greater risk than your computer is.

A computer can operate in 100% humidity without issue.

Mmmm I'm not sure I agree.

Moisture condenses.  Enough of it given temperature differences can condense on components.  80% you might be fine.  If he ran the computer ALL the time, nothing would likely condense, but if he had super high humidity and the system was off and cool?  I'd worry.

But I'd also think that'd be a terrible environment for you as well.

You know that condensation doesn't work that way, right?  The computer would never be cooler than the ambient temperature of the basement and when running it would warm up rather than cooling off.  So you wouldn't see water condensing.  You see water condensing if it was COOLER.  This is why you see 'wet' cold water pipes or toilet tanks and the like in some environmental conditions.

Also, and this is important, we are assuming this is an environment that is simply humid, not so damp that water is dripping from the ceiling.  In that scenario, property damage and human sickening mold would be your concern before the safety of your computer.

It would have to be humid to the point of forming condensation inside your rig, which isn't going to happen. I had my rig in the basement for over a year back out west, and now I have it in an apartment (3rd floor), but this area of the country is way more humid than my basement. You'll be fine
