ASUS Flashback

I'm trying to choose the best processor for my needs in video editing. I've got a used ASUS X99 Deluxe II motherboard and want to do a flashback to be sure that the processor I pick will operate. If the board is already updated from the previous owner will it hurt to do a flashback on it???

You don't need to flash anything, it will work if you buy a CPU for that socket.

Do not flash a BIOS unless you 100% need to.

Use bios flashback only if the cpu isn't supported or bios got corrupted during the update. When your system boots, update bios directly in the bios, through its EZ update bios utility.

Yes, if board was made before new CPU generation was released. However, flashback doesn't mean downgrading BIOS. It means that you can update BIOS without compatible CPU to boot with. If previous owner has board updated to latest available BIOS, you are good to go.
