Posted June 30, 2017 So a guy was selling a Ryzen 7 1700 on CL NIB for $200. I wasn't interested but was curious why so cheap. He gives me a so story on how he lost his job and needed the money. He threw in 16gb ddr4 ram an a GTX 1050 to all for $300 total also NIB. I didn't really have the spare funds but I came up with it and figured I'd help him out and could use those parts later. He even offered to go $250 but I said I was trying to help him out not profit. Fast forward to 2 days later he's trying to sell me a 32inch 144p display, another GTX 1050 ti and a galaxy s8. I was curious as to why he was selling these. He claims he had money left over from a gift card and didn't need them. I said you just sold me parts for your rig you wanted to build but needed cash. He says oh I have an I7 and a 1070. Now I realized that the parts I bought we're probably stolen or purchased with stolen credit/gift cards and that I hurt someone rather than helped someone else. Kind of disappointing as I really thought I was helping someone out. While he said he'd sell me the monitor and card for $150, I believe in morals over profits. Just keep telling yourself maybe he needs to pay the rent/mortgage and that he is ashamed and embarrassed, and yes you are helping him out. Just keep telling yourself that.
