Should I get a Logitech G430 headset? I've been looking around the internet and found it and I think its really awesome and it even has 7.1 surround sound.

I just want to know if the mic on it is good and if it is an overall good headset to get. Thank you.

The 7.1 isn't a big deal. The mic could use some work, but the sound (DTS 7.1) does help some games as far as bass is concerned but doesn't do anything for spatial awareness.

Personally, I"m using the G430 on a per-profile basis with some games being set to "off" and then testing to see what matches best.

I'm thinking now either G930 or G430 which one would you recommend?

I'm using the G430, but I haven't used the G930 and can't speak for or against it.

HyperX cloud, you can actually listen to music with it. Rap and hiphop are really good on the Clouds. Other genres are good too, I listen mostly to EDM (house, trap, a little electro) and alt rock (imagine dragons, one republic, coldplay, muse, bastille, little bit of Oasis)

The G430 was pretty inoffensive-sounding. Not awful at specific things like the Roccat and older Razer headsets, just plain meh all around. At $40 you might as well just spring the extra bit of money to get HyperX Cloud Cores for $50. The G930 is essentially a wireless G430. It sounded worse than I remembered the G430's being, but that may just be because I had Takstar Pro 80's (HyperX Cloud) and QC25's to AB at the time.

Surround sound is useless (and occasionally worse than useless); if you're obsessed with Logitech the cheaper G230 is the same headset with a different color scheme and without the "7.1".

Don't even bother with any surround sound marketing for headphone/sets.

Mic is just ok, I used to have it. I tossed it to my friend, who recently turned from a peasant to master race starter. He sounds like I'm hearing him through radio or phone. It works, but can be a lot better.
