vpns wont help here, already tried that, gfames ban your computers ip. not network or something else

You do know computers don't have an IP address right? it's the router that has a public IP address that the computer uses... so using a VPN in essence gives you a new public IP address for your PC, while the rest of your traffic is still using your ISPs public IP address.

They were probably referring the a computer's unique MAC address, and not IP address.

"To cloak my IP so that I wont get banned on special games"

Just don't go around doing stupid shit that would get you banned in the first place, problem solved.

You're more likely to run into issues with a VPN, or possibly even the chance of being automatically banned from the game if you end up on an IP that was previously banned (depending on how their ban management system is set up)

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

Perhaps, but most likely not since a client's MAC address doesn't get passed along outside of their LAN. I suspect the reason it didn't work for Tiwaz is because the IP address used via the VPN was already banned. I've seen this before trying to edit a wikipedia page while I was on my VPN (which is almost always) and found that it was already blocked without me ever having done anything on wikipedia prior.

(Edit) I'd concede that it's conceivable that the game/software is able to retrieve this info though.
