I would definitely put an SSD in there. 120GB will do, but 240GB or more is better as it allows you to put a decent amount of programs on there along with the OS. While the HDD would work, the SSD will make the whole system more responsive.

Itss typically used to boot windows, but I donth think it is a must have. Its very convient. You specific build would want one.

While an SSD isn't necessary, it's a recommended component for your OS's sake.

A small capacity SSD of 120GB or 240FB will definitely be worth it as the OS will be more responsive and you can also put games in for them to load faster

Probably not for everyday use. I have one and I only really notice it in boot times. If that doesn't matter to you then might as well pass.

A nice 240 SSD for OS boot and a 525 or 1TB SSD for the games you play the most, and the load times are MUCH faster than an HDD.

The problem is that I've already bought an HDD, I would like an SSD to combine with it...

Simple then - just use the SSD for boot and important stuff, and the HDD for everything else.  That's how I run my system.

I have a Core 2 Duo P8400 Laptop with an SSD, and an i5-4570 desktop with HDD only. For everyday use, the old laptop is simply better. That's how much of a difference it makes :P I mean, open a browser will take like 10 seconds in the desktop... 9_9

Of course, once you are past booting, opening and closing programs, etc., and it gets to crunching numbers, the desktop will smoke the laptop several times over. But still an SSD OS drive makes a bigger impact on your overall experience than most other things (like RAM speed, motherboard features, etc).

SSD is a pretty good technology and definitely is convenient.But it's still not a must have.Personally,I don't require an SSD in my daily task and gaming.But if you want one,and more important,if you NEED one,then go for it.A 120 GB should do you just fine.

It's always "better" to have an SSD, but it's a matter of budget. If you can afford an SSD without making sacrifices to more important components, I would recommend it. If you'd have to buy a cheaper CPU or GPU in order to get an SSD into the system, don't.

 

You can always add an SSD later, as long as you don't mind reinstalling or cloning your Windows installation to it.
