Need help with a build for a friend

I am looking to build a decent PC for my friend. I have made a shopping list with some parts, that I think will work well for him. I am aiming at it being able to play AAA games with medium-high settings with at least 60 FPS. But before buying anything I wanted to make sure that in choosing the best parts, and that it will work. I have gotten a lot of great help on LTT in the past, and are hoping that someone is able to help me :D If you are very nice you could add/change parts and link them to me, or send me an updated cart from ComputerSalg.dk. Also, I would like for him to be able to upgrade it in the future.

Here is a list of the components I choose. Press here to add it to a cart so that you can manage it better.

If he does alot of gaming, he'll need more than a 1TB hard drive. Games like GTA and such filled up mine for me.

I'd say maybe go for a 120GB ssd instead and go for a 2tb hard drive

I've been using a 250 SSD and a 1TB Drive and never had this problem. I don't think that will be a problem.

I would get a Ryzen 1600+b350 mobo+stock cooler instead.

I would get a 580 instead.

https://www.computersalg.dk/i/3558482/msi-rx-580-armor-oc-amd-radeon-rx

I'd get a different ssd, the Kingston SSDs aren't very good.

I would get a different psu, as vs is pretty bad. Look for S12ii/m12ii or corsair cxm grey sticker PSUs instead.

The RX 580 is sold out everywhere in Europe. It will get restocked in 2 months of something like that. So if I won't wait until then is the 1060 3G a good replacement?

I can get the Ryzen 1600 for an extra $30. Is it worth it then, price wise?

The ASRock  AB350 Mobo I can get. Should it be the ATX or Micro? What are the differences?

Can you recommend any good SSDs?

I could find one myself. But if you feel nice you could help me find a better PSU?

Thanks for the help :D

I'm from Denmark, so the prices don't tell me much. Denmark has very expensive electronics. It has some of the world's worst PC part prices.

Oops my bad I didn't realize the green thing meant sold out :D

I would try to get a 6gb card instead, as 3gb is a bit limiting. If you can't stretch the budget to a 6gb 3gb is probably fine, just not preferable.

Yes, it's way better than a 7500, and more future proof as well.

I think the main difference is just form factor, though if prices are pretty much the same I'd get ATX since it looks a little nicer and stuff like ram overclocking might be a bit better due to the motherboard traces not being so squished together.

For SSDs a little digging seems to give me these two for good value ~120gb drives

https://www.computersalg.dk/i/2307560/silicon-power-slim-s55-solid-state

https://www.computersalg.dk/i/1808216/adata-ultimate-su800-solid-state

And this guy for good value ~250gb drives (the two drives are identical, they're just in different form factors, m.2 is probably better since it's smaller and less cables and a TEENY bit cheaper :P)

https://www.computersalg.dk/i/1877073/wd-blue-pc-ssd-wds250g1b0b-solid

https://www.computersalg.dk/i/1756136/wd-blue-pc-ssd-wds250g1b0a-solid

Depending on how much your friend is willing to spend they could get a 120gb ish ssd or 250gb ish one.

For psu, this seems to be a good choice. I think it's fine since it's a tier 3 unit, as I'm pretty sure the cx grey sticker units are just cxm grey sticker units that aren't semi modular, though maybe I could get @Energycore or @STRMfrmXMN to verify this for me.

https://www.computersalg.dk/i/3318014/corsair-cx-series-cx450

If I'm incorrect then either of these PSUs would be good (up to you if you want to spend more for full modularity)

The CX non-M are actually better in design due to a rifle-bearing fan. They do lack modularity though. If you like modularity then the CXM is fine but if it doesn't matter to you then the non-M is actually a better buy.

CX450 non-modular hasn't been reviewed yet as far as I'm aware, but we discussed it and if it has a better-than-sleeve fan then it'll be T2

Corsair reps have accounts on here. I'm willing to bet some of our input made its way to the marketing department, or whoever is in charge of selling those units. I know that a Corsair staff member and I had a conversation about the new CXM series well before it was launched and I told him I thought it would be a good idea to sell the new units under a different wattage moniker (IE, CX450 vs CX430, CX550 vs CX500, and so on) since the old series had a way, way overdone steamrolling of hate by the PC enthusiast community. I'd like to believe that was a consideration when they released the new units. As such, I often recommend the CXM and CX a ton now. They're such good units for the money and I'm sure Corsair sells enough that the slimmer profit margins they make with the new units over the old ones don't matter that much to them.

@DocSwag I'm sure 450 will be enough for the current setup. But if he wants to upgrade in the future, would it be smarter to buy a higher watt PSU?

Possibly, I think 450 would be fine for a gpu up to around 175w TDP, but higher than that a 550w or so might be ideal.

In that case, I think this psu would be a good choice (it's actually just the 550w version of the Cx450m you were originally gonna get xD

@DocSwag I guess that's it. This is the parts I'm going to buy. Here is the option to add it to your cart. I heard that the RX 580 will be in stock next month, so I added it. BTW remember to make a new cart or remove the parts that in your cart before adding the new one. Thank you and everyone that helped! :D

Looks good! Keep in mind that if you want to save some money you can get windows from kinguin instead (a bit sketchy though) or just not use a product key (you just can't change the background and there's a few things in settings and stuff that tell you windows isn't activated but that's it). Up to you though.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I actually just figured that out before reading this. what are the odds haha :D You can actually get it for much cheaper on other sites. Here is a link to http://www.allkeyshop.com/ wich I always use to compare prices. I'm just gonna go with the OEM edition of course. I just hope that won't be a problem in the future but we'll see.

I've never heard of that place before, now I know about it! (And it seems quite useful too!)
