Old Server worth the purchase?

So Ive been looking to build a second PC to work as a rendering hub for some 3D modeling rendering (3DS Max mostly) someone locally is selling a old server that currently has two Xeon E5620's ARK Link:  http://ark.intel.com/products/47925/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5620-12M-Cache-2_40-GHz-5_86-GTs-Intel-QPI

 

But i figured I could get two X7560's off ebay and have the two 8 core 16 threads

 

But I have no idea if this would even be worth it does anyone have any clue or experience with this generation of server parts? Do they hold up currently? or should i just pass and keep looking for something more modern

It's good due to the core count, but I think the speed will negate any advantage that it would have.

 

Can you afford a Ryzen build?

Nope. But you could upgrade it to 2 X5670's (6C/12T)
