Good thin&light laptop

Go to solution Solved by SnipingPandaz,

I can't manage to end the thread. Could someone help?

So, I just want to start off by saying that I have considered buying the new macbook with touchbar. But after looking around at other options I really would want something with better specs. I have landed on the newest razer blade 14" with the updated i7-7700HQ . I would prefer to stay under 3500 €. I need this laptop to be portable and have good enough specs for programming/IT work. It wouldn't if it could handle some light gaming but it doesn't have to be a "gaming" laptop. Primarily thin, light, portable and good specs.

I bought the  ASUS Q325UA, A.K.A. the thinest, lightest and most powerful 2-in-1. It is extremely light, extremely thin and packs a i7-7th gen,16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD, granted you are dealing with integrated graphics . But i have noticed great battery life and only gets hot when you are setting it on a cloth material such as bedding. Plus a fingerprint scanner which is pretty cool if you ask me, has 2 USB-C ports and comes with a dongle that breaks out into USB-C, HDMI and USB-A. Ran me $1200 at BestBuy NA

The Yoga 720 15 is a pretty new and solid choice. 7700HQ with a 1050. Can get it with up to a 1 tb ssd and 16 gigs of ram. Weighs the same as the xps15, though slightly thicker, and it's a 2 in 1.

Yeah, maybe 4000$ is a bit overkill. I shall look into the XPS15. Thanks! :)

And it's a dual-core i7. Not 'powerful' by any stretch of the imagination.

remember you trade off for good specs is worse battery life.

The MacBook is going to be the thinnest and lightest machine out there and don't underestimate that dual core i5 or optional i7.

Actually looking at your price range of under 3,500 euro you could get this

https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro?product=MLH42LL/A&step=config#

you could even max it out and still be in budget.

Really the MacBook Pro is the most versatile computer for IT seeing as it can run both MacOS and Windows natively

absolutely not. this is garbage.

If you want thin and light and decent specs with good battery life Aero 15 is the only option.

If you want thin and light and specs then the Aorus X5 MD will be the best.

I agree with you, Macs do last forever, I've had one for 5 years, but I'm looking for something new, with newer specs.

I meant that moving from an 5 year old i5 model MBP to i7 and dedicated GPU should grant more horsepower.
