so I have an lga1150 motherboard, and the new cpu I bought is an i7-7700, and the dumbass that I am, didn't look up if I had to get a new motherboard or not. The i7-7700 is LGA 1151. and before I didn't know that, I tried installing the i7-7700 to my lga1150, and realized it didnt worked and saw it had bent corners...

Try using tweezers to pull them back straight. But be gentle. Hope its alright!

?!?

This is a CPU, it doesn't have pins.

He damaged the CPU not the motherboard.

The PCB is obviously completely bent and ruined, tweezers will literally do nothing to a broken piece of fiberglass.

Hard to tell from the picture, but CPU may be screwed. RMA it, nothing else you can do.

I don't think the warranty covers stupid people breaking the product, but he could at least try.

Could lie and say it was damaged in transit :P (Technically it was, transit to the correct socket).

Yes, except this is obviously damage from putting a CPU in an incorrect socket.

You could ship a CPU outside of the box and it would probably be in better condition than this, that's how strong the PCB is.

Maybe say he bought it used and it isn't working? Pretend like he's some old woman who has no idea about computers? :P

Could try to bend it back, but you're probably fucked.

You could try to carefully bend it back, but its probably dead. At least OP can make the most expensive key ring tag.

Don't bend it back. RMA. It happens. I've had a friend do it, got a new CPU back. Then had me install his gear.

RMA, don't bend back. You'll break the PCB, and have to buy a new chip with no chance of RMA.

Also, it's call ZIF Arm, for Zero Insertion Force Arm. You had to have out more than Zero foot-pounds of force behind that.
