Hi, I'm new to PC building and I was wondering if I could get some help deciding parts on a build I am planning to... build in the next 1-2 weeks. This is what I've planned out so far.

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/9mJczM

Budget and Location:

So far this is what I have. Currently I have $1100 AUD (I live in Australia, but it is roughly $800 USD) for the build. This amount is somewhat fixed as I'm 14 and I don't have a very good way at making some constant income.

Aim:

My aim is 95% for 1080p 60fps AAA/Esports gaming on one screen, but I do want to get into video editing in the future.

Peripherals:

I do need a keyboard as well as a monitor, but for the time being I plan on spending the max amount on the computer unless that is unwise. I've already got OS covered.

Why:

I want to upgrade, well because I've been playing on a crappy laptop and consoles my whole life, just thought it was time to upgrade :)

I thought that I would mention a few questions that I had. I was wondering if there was any way to save money on the build without sacrificing too much performance. The reason being is because the ssd is more... wishful thinking. When I bought the laptop I am currently on, I was given a 120gb ssd and a 500gb hdd. I currently use the 500gb hdd as an external hard drive and the ssd is in this laptop. Is there any way I can put the 500gb back into the laptop and take out the 120gb ssd and use it in the desktop? If so how could I do this.

Thanks for any help :)

you should be able to remove the internal hdd from the external drive and it should be a regular 2.5'" hdd. you'll have to open up the laptop and swap out the ssd for the hdd after you clone everything to the hdd.

2. If not, then well what you planned out is nice, except swap out for a Gray CXM, the one I showed on my part list above. Green CX isn't particularly good

How would I clone the ssd to the harddrive? Is there any program that does this, and what would happen to the windows that is on this laptop?

From what I heard, Ryzen benefits incredibly from using 3000 mhz ram, and is worth the extra $20-$30 for the extra speed. I forgot to mention that I hate the look of micro atx cases as they don't really appeal to me as much as a standard mid tower. The power supply on my pcpp was more of a placeholder as I could not find the exact one, instead I'm planning to use this here.

A few things about this, that ram is listed as 'pre order' on umart and is $200 on mwave. The WD blue I am planning to add once I get the money. The GPU that you chose was the 1060, and I was told to avoid the 'blower' single fan/reference cards as they run hot, loud and slower then normal ones. However I found one that is equal in price that is a 2 fan one here. I'm not completely sure what is better to get, the 1060 or the 580. The 580 does benefit from freesync and the monitor I plan to get in the future does have freesync. Gsync seems to be much more pricey compared to freesync.

Thanks for all the replies.

It goes a bit over budget, but if that keyboard is really that price....I'd jump all over it. Cherry Blues aren't the best for gaming, but you could do worse.

That is somehow faked as when you go to the page it says this product does not exist :/

The 1060 that you mentioned here is on sale which ends in 8 hours, I can't go with this as I'm getting my debit card in around 2-3 days so I won't be able to buy it. Is there any reason you chose the 1060 over the 580?

the rx 580 slightly edges out the gtx 1060 6gb, but the 8gb variant is too expensive compared to the gtx 1060s so i'd recommend getting the 1060. the mini itx oc card doesn't actually perform badly, reviews of it online look pretty good.

https://www.eteknix.com/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1060-mini-itx-oc-6gb-graphics-card-review/9/

also, don't get the cx500, the cx450m is newer and is much better in quality for the same price.

RX 580 I would choose, since if you want to crossfire it's more easy, and GTX 1060 can't SLI for sure
