Which of the two psu to pick ?

Hello!

I need to change my psu because it just doesn't give enough power.

Here are full specs in my pc : http://speccy.piriform.com/results/d027LREWndsbtpYgHyEv7iT

I'm debating between `SeaSonic 620W 80+ Bronze S12II-620` and `Corsair 550W 80+ Bronze CX550M (grey unit)`, what should i p[ick for my system for long lasting pus ? I will be mounting it horizontally.

If both are not good, i would be very pleased to know better one from this list (There are just not enough good options) -http://en.ksp.co.il/?select=.1108..140..554..553..555..551.&list=1&sort=3&glist=0&uin=0&txt_search=&buy=&minprice=0&maxprice=0&intersect=&rintersect=&store_real=

From that list

Seasonic SS-600ET is a non-modular OEM power supply, it's a sort of S12II version that's made cheaper, no sleeving or black wires, uglier gray case, possibly taiwanese capacitors instead of japanese on some less important voltages (like -12v , 3.3v) but you still get 3 years warranty, decent fan, good efficiency (82%+)

I consider it better than VS or CX models from Corsair

It's cheap and good

SeaSonic SSP-550RT 550W Gold Active PFC 12CM Fan PSU OEM - SS-550RT

Another oem version but gold efficiency , good power supply like almost all Seasonic power supplies they make , but may be willing to pay a dollar more to get something in a nicer case. Price reductions are in plain gray case and lack of sleeving on cables and stuff like that, not internal quality

Very good value for money, all japanese capacitors, it's the Seasonic G-Series in plain case and without sleeving on wires and maybe slightly shorter wires

Antec EA550G should also be Ok for the money - it's a FSP design so probably the component selection in them is not as good as the Seasonic models but if the warranty is good then you should be fine

@mariushm How does the SeaSonic SSP-550RT 550W Gold Active PFC 12CM Fan PSU OEM - SS-550RT compare to SeaSonic 620W 80+ Bronze S12II-620 ? There are almost the same price, while the second one has 5 years warranty , and higher wattage ?

The Seasonic S12ii would normally be more expensive because it has painted case, it has longer cables and probably more connectors on the cables and the wires are either all black or sleeved. These (along with longer warranty) add to the price.

However, the S12ii is a very old design. the first models in this series were launched at end of 2009, early 2010 and we're in 2017 already which is a loooong time. Since then Seasonic has released several series of power supplies with bronze or gold efficiency and my guess is Seasonic doesn't want to keep its production lines busy with these older less profitable series.

Therefore, my guess is the last stocks of S12ii (and m12ii which is the modular s12ii) are now sold with some significant discount, and when they're done the G-Series and equivalent would take their place.

Due to the higher efficiency, that 550w gold OEM power supply doesn't produce as much heat as the 620w bronze power supply, so it can be designed with a good quality but cheaper fan, the wires are all different colors and aren't sleeved so they can be made faster and cheaper, the case is also plain steel (not painted) so there's your savings.

Also due to smarter more efficient design, some components can be miniaturized or can be cheaper and  for example the new power supply uses polymer capacitors instead of electrolytic capacitors, using less space (and in some cases there's fewer pieces of capacitors required in more modern designs saving a few more cents)

If you don't care about the looks, the 550w gold efficiency would be a better choice.

The Corsair CX550M is better with its DC-DC regulation. The Seasonic S12II is old design that's group-regulated.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

What about the SeaSonic SSP-550RT 550W Gold Active PFC 12CM Fan PSU OEM - SS-550RT, that mariushm had suggested ? If its the G-Series just in a plain case, so its a really good psu - its tier two on the list?

Same platform but there are some changes such as worse capacitors (that are still pretty good). I'd get that if you can bear the plain exterior.
