no. and the new one wont be either

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

Are you using Mac specific programs? If so, how much performance will you require?

Unless you need it for the programs or just like the operating system, it was never worth it and never will be. Build a PC.

COUGH **Spits Coffee Out**, wipes face. Since when was it worth it?! Just build a mini-ITX PC or look at Zotac's mini PC options.

And yet I'd still buy the new rMBP over any current Windows laptop.

No. From a hardware standpoint it's outdated and overpriced.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

i guess perspective, i don't have time to use 50 dongles to get a simple thing done on an overheating "pro" laptop.  seriously dongles on a pro laptop? and the laptop has serious throttling problems, it goes over 100C.

My mom recently purchased the XPS 13 9360 and I have to admit, it is a beautiful laptop that's very portable, fast, and has incredible build quality.  https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&O=&Q=&ap=y&c3api=1876%2C{creative}%2C{keyword}&gclid=CjwKEAjwpJ_JBRC3tYai4Ky09zQSJAC5r7ruP-WFEy-G5q-vJzoWe24VSrkGDed7Wl6d0-jx-lg8fBoCF9jw_wcB&is=REG&m=Y&sku=1311569

Yes, the XPS 13 is great; I'd still take the new rMBP.

Off the top of my head....Better trackpad, better screen (good for editing), tight integration with iOS, subjectively better OS, far less telemetry, FCP/LP, xcode

first of all, macs are PC( personal computer) you mean windows?

only Macs will defend are the 2015 models, in my opinion, the new 2016 MacBooks are crap.

i am still salty about removing the back glowing apple logo, unnecessarily big trackpad, not enough IO, stupid touchbar and throttling.

Final Cut Pro X. It's awesome and cheaper than Premier Pro, the other main program used for video editing. Xcode, needed to make iOS and Mac Apps. They're often more stable and secure, and simpler to use. Also, they never magically decide to install updates unless you told them to. Free OS updates (though now with win10 that isn't really a thing). Excellent customer support.

Final cut is video editing, that is not something a mac can do that a PC cannot lol. Okay logic pro if I remember correctly is for super high end audio stuff, which PC can do as well. Fine, if you absolutely need autodesk smoke for some odd reason then get a Mac, however what auto desk smoke does can still be done on a PC with other software... And now you list two things that only Mac's can do, however, the functionality of those things are limited to only Mac eco-system anyways. So again, Mac is over priced, proprietary as shit, over marketed low end hardware/software.

On topic: No. The Mac mini isn't really worth it, as for the price of a decent one, it's just a little stretch to an iMac. Which has speakers, a display, mouse, keyboard, etc.
