FPS locked at 60FPS , GTX 1080

my friend got a new 1080
and fps in overwatch its locked at 60
i uninstalled old drivers via DDU,
installed latest drivers from nvidia

i also turned OFF Vsync in game and in 3D nvidia cp
and turned of Xbox DVR
still 60 fps

what could be the problem ??

is the 'limit fps' option set to custom? if set to display based and he has a 60hz monitor then it will be locked to 60. You can set it to custom and move the slider up to 300 max

I remember overwatch also has another frame limiter setting. Is that also set to what ever the max setting is

Well it's only 60hz, so you won't see anything over 60fps

It may say it's doing 300fps in CSGO but you won't see it, because the display can't refresh that fast.

you can. i cant explain but there is a difference between 60fps cs go on my 60hz monitor vs 300fps o  same one

the benefit of higher fps is a lower input lag,sometimes extremely noticable in cs and similar games

The problem is that you have a 60HZ monitor, get a 144hz one

IT DOESNT MATTER

I have a 144Hz monitor, and 250FPS in CSGO, and sometimes 1100FPS on load screens. If you want to utilize all those Frame Rates, get those new 240Hz monitors

Nope. But I'd assume it's a setting somewhere in OW, considering you already made sure it wasn't the drivers.

no its not, its good fps in csgo gta v doom, all games except overwatch, ill try to find a solution, if not ill reinstall it and see, ty

...then it will only ever display a max of 60fps with anything above that being a wasted frame and more heat for no other reason than showing a higher frame rate you're not actually benefiting from.
