Dont test it with speedtest shiz or whatever, usually you can watch your REAL speed on steam like peak download rate or BitTorrent or Utorrent download speed display.

My speed is on the peak of 900 Kb/s but average of 700 Kb/s. sometimes when i get lucky i get a stable 900 Kb/s.

There is already a topic about this here, to get your "real" download speed just take your speed in Mbps and divide by 8.

DIvide by 8 isn't actually accurate, it's always different because the extra protocol bytes affecting it.

I download Steam games with 14MB/s ( 120 somewhat MBPS download speed )

So you are getting more than you paid for, speedtest.net will reflect that.

Of course it isn't 100% accurate your download speed to a given location would also depend on the server's upload speed, overhead, how much bandwidth the server is currently using etc etc

But it is accurate in the sense that it is the conversion from Mbps to MBps.

I hover around 2.8-3.2MB/s when downloading Steam games. I can occasionally hit about 4.0MB/s, my speeds are really incontinent.

When downloading Steam games, I tend to get 1 - 1.7MB/s. When I eventually get Ethernet, it should hopefully be about 5MB/s.

Every topic I post in dies.
