It's mainly for work. Won't really be gaming much at all, maybe the new COD once a month with a friend or something. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): This will be my first build, currently just using an Acer Nitro laptop. 2. Hi All, I was wondering if I should go for the 3700x (400 CAD) or 5600x (420 CAD) for mainly video editing, InDesign work, and a lot of Illustrator work. Will the 2 extra cores being more beneficial than the upgrade to Zen3 for 5600x?
  3. Thanks alot, but I'm not really looking to buy used parts right now.
  4. Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely replace that with 1 stick instead of two.
  5. Hi, I am looking to build an entry level video editing PC, but I'm restricted to a budget of $550 CAD before taxes. This what I came up with: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 1200 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($129.99 @ Newegg Canada) Motherboard: Asus - PRIME A320M-K Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($70.99 @ Amazon Canada) Memory: Crucial - 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($79.82 @ Amazon Canada) Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.75 @ Vuugo) Video Card: Zotac - GeForce GTX 1050 2GB Mini Vide
  6. Yea, thanks just going to go with the 212 for now.
  7. haha, yea mainly for aesthetics, and i just think it'll be a pretty cool project to work on.
  8. Hey, so I'm in a bit of a situation, I was planning on custom watercooling my build but the watercooling parts will cost me around $800 and I don't want to spend that kind of money right now, cause atm I'm not working. I plan to start working again in May and so I was wondering what I should do with my build then, I already have all the parts necessary to build it except for the CPU cooler. So, should I just buy an EVO 212 and use it until June, or should I buy something like a kraken x61? Thanks
  9. I was planning on watercooling it, mostly for aesthetics and low noise. So, if I end up buying the 6700k and overclock it then the $80 difference is worth it right?
  10. Hey, so I bought almost all my parts for my new build, only product left to purchase is my CPU. I decided to go for a skylake build, so I ended getting up a Z170 Motherboard, DDR4 and all that good stuff. But right now the i7 6700(k) are low in stock and expensive. But I found a place which has both of them in stock, the i7 6700 for $440 and i7 6700k for $520. So is the 6700k worth it for $80 more? Thanks
  11. Hey, so currently I'm running a i7 860, 8 GB RAM, and a GTS 250. I think its about time I build a new PC, anyways I live in Canada and the prices for Skylake and Haswell CPU's are pretty high right now, and I am not sure what go with for an i7, or should I drop to an i5? I mainly want to use the computer for gaming, general browsing, and media work. These are the prices for the CPUs currently: i7 6700k $489 i7 4790k $410 i5 6600k $359 i5 4690k $299 Also just wanted to mention that the i7 5820k is $550. I also don't think I can wait any longer as I feel like this PC is o
  12. @spwath right now the Kanto YU5's are for $190, are those better than AV40s?
  13. Oh okay. I just found them for $90, so I guess I will go with them. Thanks
  14. Alright, I don't know much about speakers but my only concern is that would onboard audio be enough to power them. Also, I have a Sony subwoofer at home, is it possible to connect that to the AV40s as well?

    $150 Speakers

Hey guys, Right now I am looking for speakers for about $150, they're for my PC. I am debating between Z623s and the M-Audio AV40 V2, both I can get around $120. Which one is better? Also are there any other ones you guys can recommend for around the same price? Thanks
