You don't have to go on crazy websites at all to get it.  It's a worm.  It will propagate itself into your system via an SMBv1 exploit.

If you really, really, REALLY don't want to be patient and let the update finish (seriously, it took my laptop 24 hours to finish the update) then make sure you disable SMBv1.

im just gonna bring it to micro center

I really have hard time believing that Microsoft wouldn't have backported the fix over to 1607, considering that they haven't even rolled out creators update to the business branch yet. I doubt that upgrading builds gives you any better protection against WannaCry.

Well i can say that some businesses in my country has had the update notification pop up the same time i did and others have not. I do not know if it is because of how the initial Win10 update from say win 7 or 8 was done or not and yes it was patched but that was for the specific WannaCry signature and how it interacts with SMB 1 & 2.

Now you can disable SMB in the registry if you know how but in my experience it is reset with every cumulative OS update because i had to go back and disable it for my machines after updating from the first windows update to the anniversary then to creators.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.
