It didn't freeze on five different PC in my home, is there maybe some setting you have changed that is preventing  the update to go through properly? you can also use the media creator tool to DL the creators update and then you can install it.

While i am not saying you are wrong, i feel you were not patient enough during the update because one laptop took almost five hours to complete the update and the owner had a moment of thinking hey this frigging thing froze what do we do and then i said we will watch an episode of supernatural and eat some food while it does its thing and then after about thirty minutes of being stuck on 33% it just jumped to 74% then continued the update. keep in mind the CPU was so frigging hot the laptop fans spun up to almost full.

Can you say exactly what is froze by your experience?

Okay well for me, i was able to move the mouse so maybe, just maybe your PC did freeze. Do you have an OC on the CPU?GPU?...do you have the HDD/system able to go to sleep after some random time or never go to sleep? those two things can cause the PC to freeze during an update especially the OC.  OC = overclock.

Then maybe it did freeze, now that is a problem. Your next best bet would be to use the media creator tool to DL and make an .iso of the creators update then install it from a bootable USB flash drive. i would really advise you do the update because the internet is a really fucked up place and as @Billy_Mays stated, you don't WannaCry and even though WannaCry has been killed you will if you get infected with the newer versions that are already being tested without kill switches.

It is...was the newest form of ransomware that spread internationally. Ransomware is hacking a PC to encrypt the HDDs so that the user can't get in then post a number to call or an account to place money in so that the user can get a code to decrypt the HDDs to use the PC.

You don't have to go on crazy websites at all to get it.  It's a worm.  It will propagate itself into your system via an SMBv1 exploit.

If you really, really, REALLY don't want to be patient and let the update finish (seriously, it took my laptop 24 hours to finish the update) then make sure you disable SMBv1.
