iphone 6 plus wont tern on (soaked in water)

I have iphone 6 plus that was plugged to the charger while I was sleep and the AC unit above it start leaking water to both the charger and the iphone

 

so once i waked up unplugged it (it displays apple logo briefly then gone dark)

i put it in rice for a day to dry then took it to a first technician but he cloudnt fix it so i took it to another and he told me that the first technician maybe (he wasnt 100% sure) did a bad job drying the phone with some method  (cant recall it) and for that he also cant fix it

 

note : after drying the charger is working and there are very small burn mark on the golden plate connector from the phone side but the cable also works with other phones

 

Is it possible to repair the phone (for reasonable cost) and most importantly how to recover the data (if possible) ?

I'm not sure if they can connect it to a different motherboard somehow or not. I think it's probably unlikely.

Lesson: back up your data.

 

If you've already taken it to 2 people and they've said no, try taking it to Apple. It won't be cheap, but maybe they can help.

hope you or any other can guide me for some one or some online store that offer retrieving data for phones (I had good expirence with someone in Canada how did hard drives shiped him mine and he send them back in two weeks with the data for reasonable price) hope there is something slimier with phones

HDDs are different than flash memory though.

But it looks like the general consensus is, if it had power running through it when the water hit, you're out of luck.

Is it? Unfortunate. I don't use Apple products so I'm not sure. Though I imagine the cost involved in getting the information off of flash memory embedded in a device isn't cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

why do they need to wipe your device for something unrelated to the data? repair shops can replace pretty much everything without touching it, why cant apple?

I imagine they don't have to, and likely don't just go erasing everything for any repair. It's stupid to guarantee that your stuff will be on there when they take apart a device. Who knows what could happen. It's that chance of something going wrong that they have to cover their ass for. It's very basic risk mitigation.

What does the shop have to lose? Nothing, really. They have your money. If they lose your data, sure, you might not go back, but you also might never need to again.

What does Apple have to lose? A customer that purchases expensive phones, and who likely buys multiple Apple products. The potential loss for them is huge.

it's called no fix no fee, and apple's one of the few that doesnt offer it.
